DESADV EDIFACT (Despatch Advice Message)
DESADV EDIFACT message is used to specify details for goods despatched or ready for despatch under agreed conditions. Despatch Advice may serve both as a specification for Delivery Despatch Advice and also as a Returns Despatch Advice message. DESADV EDIFACT message may be used for national and international purposes (field of application). This EDIFACT transaction relates to commerce, administration and transport sections of business.
The intent of the DESADV EDIFACT message is to advise of the detailed contents of a consignment. Despatch Advice Message relates to one seller and one buyer or their respective agents. It relates to a single despatch point and single or multiple destination points, and may cover a number of different items or packages.
DESADV transaction allows it recipient to:
- know when the material has been despatched or will be ready for dispatch
- have the precise details of the consignment
- take initial steps towards Customs clearance in the case of international consignmentsenable matching between despatched goods and the following invoice.
