EDI Routing Instructions For Cross-border Shipping USA to Canada
EDI Routing Instructions given below describe general requirements set to cross-border merchandise shipping from USA to Canada.
LTL Notes
- Carrier will contact you for a pick-up appointment
- Please provide Appt #, date, and PO# when booking pickup
- Please provide Appt #, date, and PO# on BOL, and ensure all freight shipping on the same day ships on one BOL, or has a master BOL
NOTE: ship to DC, do not ship directly to the store – see Section 3 for DC details
All customs and shipping documents are required, including:
- Commercial EDI invoice with:
- PO#
- Country of Origin
- Detailed product description including material composition
- If apparel, include gender, fabric material, knit or woven, etc.
- Packing List
- Bill of Lading/ Way Bill
- Trade Agreement Certificates: NAFTA or TPL (if applicable)
Small Parcel Notes
- Ship via Fedex Ground (FDEG)
- Contact Fedex at 1-800-463-3339 or online at www.fedex.com to arrange pick-up and delivery
- Ship to DC, do not ship to store
- Ship via Third Party Bill using Hudson’s Bay Company account, which will be given at time of routing advice.
- At a minimum, the following information MUST be provided on the Fedex label:
o Company Name
o Ship City, ZIP, State, and Country
o Recipient Name (“Attn: Shipping Department”), Company, Address, City, ZIP, State, Country
o No. of Pcs
o Weight
o Appt No. (as “Reference”)
o PO No. (as “P.O. number”)
Please provide Appt # and PO# on BOL
Please ship all cartons at the same time on one Fedex shipment, Mark cartons as “1 of …”, “2 of …”, “3 of …” etc. if more than one carton is being shipped
Once pick-up confirmed, email hbc.freight.management@hbc.cm with Fedex tracking # and date shipped ASAP
