EDI Specialist Qualifications
- Three to four years of experience in systems and programming
- Working knowledge of EDI translation software packages
- Solid understanding of EDI standards
- Expertise in data mapping
- General knowledge of communication standards
- Experience with VANs, ISPs and Internet security packages
EDI Specialist General Responsibilities
- Performs data mapping, mailbox setup, communications and security setups
- Receives EDI data and ensures successful integration of data to interface and application files and to trading partner mailboxes
- Develops and ensures that sufficient audit and control procedures are in place
EDI SpecialistSpecific Responsibilities and Activities
- Maps EDI transaction sets in translation software
- Creates and maintains trading partner profiles in translation software
- Establishes authentication and encryption if necessary
- Communicates trading partner-specific technical issues to development project leader
- Establishes and maintains mailboxes on VANs
- Establishes connection through the Internet
- Incorporates audit and control procedures within trading partner profiles, translation set maps and interface files.
