Qualifications
- Six to eight years of general management experience with IT or other functional departments
- Knowledge of IT concepts. Solid understanding of key Electronic Commerce technologies such as EDI and bar coding and their impact in a business environment
- Must understand and be able to apply re-engineering concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and good rapport with upper management
General Responsibilities
- Manages the entire EDI implementation effort as it relates to other projects
- Acts as liaison between the EDI team and corporate executives
- Ensures that EDI is used as a tool to achieve enterprise-wide critical success factors
Specific Responsibilities and Activities
- Develops and manages strategic plan for EDI
- Participate in EDI team meetings
- Secures management commitment
- Obtains funding and resources
- Performs benchmarking for EDI
- Reports on EDI implementation and its benefits to upper management
- Identifies other Electronic Commerce technologies to integrate with EDI
- Develops and assists in the rollout of business process re-engineering projects
